Pearle Vision Experience Review and Sweepstakes

  • How to Fight the Frump When Choosing Glasses

    March 18, 2016
As my long-time readers know, I'm a big proponent of fighting the frump! When we take care of our appearance, we feel more confident. And that comes out in the way we treat others and we treat ourselves. While my glasses are dear to my heart, the thing is that they're seriously unfashionable. So I decided it was time to start feeling better about glasses! Pearle Vision is a one-stop shop--you can call or book an appointment online, and then you just choose your eyewear after that. I booked online, and then they sent me a text to remind me of my appointment and even set it up in my Google calendar and sent me a map of how to get there (though my hometown only has one mall. It wasn't that hard!)
  • Taking Care of My Pearle Vision in 2016

    March 18, 2016
This is a goal for 2016: TAKE CARE OF MAMA. I booked a wax last week. I am going to get blood work done next week, and have a full physical the week after. This past Friday I went to the Pearle Vision at Scarborough Town Centre to see a (really smart wo)man about my eyes.
  • The Breakup that Landed My Family at Pearle Vision

    March 16, 2016
I’ve been going to the same optician for 10 years. The problem is that 10 years ago, I lived in Toronto. Now, I live nearly an hour east of the city — and that’s without traffic. I love wearing glasses, but I don’t typically love the eye exams required to get them. In my experience, they’re inconvenient — even when I lived in Toronto — because the eye doctor is only available on Tuesday evenings at my optician’s office. That means he books up fast. So when my son’s teacher suggested The K Man get an eye exam this year to rule out some issues he’s been having at school, I dreaded making the appointment. I knew it was time to break up with my eye doctor. Then this opportunity with Pearle Vision popped up in my inbox. (Some pretty fantastic timing to say the least.)
  • Finding the Perfect Pair at Pearle Vision

    March 16, 2016
You know those mornings where you wake up and *BAM* you feel older. Mine happened when I woke up, went to check the weather on the tablet, and had to close my right eye to stop it from looking blurry. It was time to give in, admit defeat (which I hate having to do). It was time to see an eye doctor and get some glasses. Priority number one for me was a one-stop shop so that it could all be done quickly - there are three kids and a hungry husband at home every night, so wasting hours on multiple stops isn't ideal. So, I made an appointment (online! how easy!), and two days later I was at the Pearle Vision Newmarket in the Upper Canada Mall getting taken care of.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but I haven't had my eyes checked in over 10 years, okay actually longer than that. Over the last little while, I've been getting pretty bad migraines. The thought popped into my head that maybe I needed glasses. ne of the main reasons I hadn't gone was because I thought it would be such a pain to find a doctor and it would take some time to get in for an appointment. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Pearle Vision at my local mall (Sherwood Park Mall) was an easy, quick and a thorough visit.

Here's a little-known fact about me: I'm pretty much blind. I have to wear contact lenses every day, otherwise I would basically have to stand with my nose pressed against yours in order to see your face... no joke. Regular eye exams, thoroughly-cleansed and regularly-discarded contact lenses, and evenings spent wearing glasses to give my eyes a break are all steps I take to keep my eyes healthy, so when Pearle Vision approached me to visit one of their locations, I was all over it.
