XoNecole Partners with SHE Media to Grow the Brand Across Multiple Channels, Resulting in an 88% RPM Increase

Necole Kane's online destination, xoNecole.com, provides an open platform to empower, educate, and inspire young women of color. Content on the site ranges from personal stories, culture, politics, even relationship and beauty advice. With an empowering mission and a large audience of women of diverse backgrounds, xoNecole wanted to grow the brand and scale the business while maintaining an optimal user experience.

SHE Media’s focus on female publishers helped the XoNecole team to brainstorm different ways to achieve growth at scale and reach their goals by working together on a new ad footprint for XoNecole that would maximize the amount of direct campaigns targeting the audience and increase RPM.

By analyzing the historical performance of xoNecole’s programmatic and direct campaigns, SHE Media was able to increase video inventory, add native placements and work on improving viewability to maximize the amount of inventory that high CPM brands could target: adhesive footer, sticky sidebar ad, etc. We also used our smart injection rules to maximize revenue per page while preserving user experience and Google policy.

The holistic partnership allowed xoNecole to optimize and grow RPM by 88% by maximizing monetization opportunities on the page, and benefitted from all the “beyond the banner” perks of being a SHE Media network partner.

As a member of SHE Media’s growing network of content creators, XoNecole also has the opportunity for editorial integration, assistance with direct sales and marketing, work on branded content, and opportunities to be featured in year-round BlogHer events, editorial features and Influencer programs.

“SHE Media has delivered a holistic partnership to grow the xoNecole brand. With their deep knowledge of the women’s lifestyle space, we appreciate that their platform is highly competitive, and they’ve helped us hone our pitch to the marketplace, grow our audience by optimizing our editorial strategy, and created new revenue and live event opportunities for xoNecole.” —Alix Baudin, President and COO, Will Packer Media
