  • Seize the Moment with FLONASE Allergy Relief

    August 11, 2016
Every fall I feel like scratching my eyes. My eyes water. My nose is runny and stuffy. As the managing editor of a community newspaper, I don't have time to be down with allergies all fall. I am the editor, but also the reporter, the photographer, and basically everything editorial for the newspaper.
  • FLONASE: Living Life Beyond Allergies

    August 11, 2016
We are now moving into fall and as the weather starts to cool down a bit, we try to get ready for our allergy season. In October, the leaves begin to fall. Our driveway turns yellow with pollen produced by nearby pine trees. Without fail, my whole family begins to look like we've been watching marathon sessions of sad movies! All of our eyes get watery and itchy. Seasonal allergies affect all of us in a big way. My sons and daughter sport perpetually runny noses and my husband gets nasal congestion.
  • It is important for me to "Seize the Moment of Being a Mom!"

    August 11, 2016
I love the fall weather; it gets us all outside during the time when it is cooler than the summer but still nice out that we can enjoy it. Thankfully this year the heat was not too bad and we were all outside often, but I never pass up a moment for us to be outside.
  • Spring is Here!

    May 26, 2016

Spring has officially sprung y'all. It is the time when flowers are in bloom and the skies are more blue. It is also when our family loves to spend time outdoors. All three people under our roof are currently suffering from severe allergies and so we take precaution. It stinks. We are all literally just walking around like zombies because something just hit our area. In Texas I can normally tell when my allergies flare up because I get a runny nose and itchy eyes.

  • Living in Texas: Wildflowers for days

    May 26, 2016
When we moved to Texas 6 years ago, I knew it would feel a bit "country" compared to our Los Angeles neighborhood. I expected it; I welcomed it! But what I wasn't prepared for....was Texas wildflower season! Oh my, oh my. Among the boots, BBQ joints, and food truck explosion, no one had told me about springtime in Texas! There are red poppies, blue bonnets, indian paint brush, weeds that belong in a vase. It's like a small-town fairy tale, where you get to eat brisket at the end and wear dresses with floppy sleeves.
  • Nothing Gets In The Way Of My Summer Fun!

    May 26, 2016
During the spring and summer, my husband and I live in the sun. He loves to golf, I love to garden and we both love taking our boat out on the water any chance we get. It's our paradise: our place to forget about all the stresses Monday-Friday and relax with friends and family. We BBQ on the water, we have dance parties on the water and besides Hawaii there is honestly no place I would rather be! (Ok, and Vegas on New Years eve circa 2014, but you get the point.)
  • Seizing the Outdoors with My Kids

    May 26, 2016
Do you have a good relationship with your kids? Most parents would probably say yes, but how do you know for sure? Asking my kids this one question has helped us to connect in ways I could never have anticipated. The one question I ask my kids is this: What can I do to be a better parent?
  • Simple Solutions for Relieving Spring Allergies

    May 26, 2016

Did you know that I'm allergic to cats but have two of them? Not like, only a little allergic, but I'm really allergic to cats! Growing up, my family had a pet cat named Friskey. When I was around 8 years old, we discovered my allergies. My grandmother decided to keep Friskey, but she lived in another part of our home until I left for college.

  • The Secret to Surviving Garden Season Allergies

    May 26, 2016
Digging in and coaxing new life from the earth is one of spring’s most satisfying activities for any garden lover. My love for digging in the dirt and nurturing plants is inherited from my grandmother. Unfortunately, my allergies are also likely hereditary (source)! If you suffer from allergies, the most satisfactory bliss of morning gardening can turn into sniffling, itchy, watery-eyed torment by the afternoon.
